With the Art, Sports and Contemporary line-ups, we are proposing a new connection with photography with the reshuffling and integration of our changeable lens.
This is the challenge known as ‘SIGMA GLOBAL VISION’.

The announcement of SIGMA GLOBAL VISION (SGV) at Photokina in 2012 was not a mere renewal of our products, but the proposition of an unprecedented reshuffling and integration of all our lenses based around three development concepts.

In a market where the right choice of a lens has become difficult, we want to guide the customer to find the one lens he truly desires. We aim to create a simple contact point that can communicate the desires of the customer and the intentions of the lens maker without misunderstanding. Based on this idea, we developed three different lines: the Art line, which prioritizes artistic expression; the Sports line featuring high-end speed; and the Contemporary line which combines high performance with functionality.

The possibilities and the clarity of this radical concept — with the Art line at its heart — is a user-oriented solution and becomes a symbolic presence for our new lenses (to be developed). SIGMA GLOBAL VISION is our concept for our entire manufacturing concept and exemplifies not just our lens line-up but shows the direction SIGMA has chosen for its own future, having already developed 14 lenses, 3 cameras and a variety of accessories under the SGV banner (as of 2014).

At Photokina 2014, we took our concept to radical new levels with the announcement of the world’s very first 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM ultra-telephoto zoom lens, available in two specifications: the high-end Sports model for professional use, and the price-friendlier high-performance Contemporary version.

We believe it imperative not to be swept up in large trends but to set new standards as originators and innovators.
